Welcome and thanks for visiting my site!

If you are on this page, it is because you are at least a bit curious to know more about me so, let's get going. I was born and raised in Manizales, Colombia, and moved to the US during my teenage years. I have always had a curious nature and a desire to understand how the world around me functions from different perspectives. I became interested in the natural sciences very early on because I needed to know how the physical reality surrounding me functioned at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. Then, I became interested in understanding why societies around the world differ despite being made up of members of the same human species -- I needed to know what were the environmental, social, cultural, and psychological factors that made human communities in the world unique. Those academic interests were complemented by the sociocultural diversity that I was exposed as an immigrant living in different cities and interacting with people from different ethnicities and nationalities. These were the factors that led me to choose this particular degree combination.
