The Fair Food Network is a national nonprofit headquartered in Ann Arbor, MI. The organization was founded on the beliefs that food is essential to our future and that vibrant local food systems can create health and economic opportunity for all. To achieve their goals, the Fair Food Network works with a diverse network of partners to design solutions that support farmers, strengthen the local economy, and increase access to healthy food—especially in underserved communities.

 

As the development intern at the Fair Food Network, I provided general administrative support to help advance the mission of creating a sustainable food system that promotes health and equity in low-income communities across the U.S. I also conducted research on the sustainable strategies that big food corporations are implementing in their operations to secure a greener future, and how legislation like the Farm Bill is vital for our work in agricultural development, environmental sustainability, and nutrition programs.
